Panel Discussion: “Reporting ‘From Burma to Buffalo’ and the Future of Refugees in the Trump Era”

Burma to Buffalo event posterBuffalo News reporter Jerry Zremski and photographer Derek Gee will discuss their experiences reporting on the lives of refugees from Burma during “From Burma to Buffalo,” a presentation sponsored by the School of Social Work’s Immigrant and Refugee Research Institute.

Zremski and Gee, who spent 20 months reporting the series of stories detailing the arrival of more than 8,000 Burmese refugees in Buffalo, also will discuss how the Trump administration’s stance on immigration and refugees will affect refugees in the resettlement program.

Light refreshments will be served.
