Leadership changes taking place this summer at the UB Humanities Institute

August 12, 2019

Libby Otto will be stepping down as Executive Director of the Humanities Institute effective June 30, 2019 to accept a residential Senior Fellowship at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts (CASVA) at the National Gallery in Washington D.C. We are very appreciative for her six years of devoted service. Libby has been instrumental to the success of the Institute through a period of expansion, including the founding and consolidation of the Buffalo Humanities Festival (with Erik Seeman as Director) and the more recent addition of the annual event series “Humanities to the Rescue.” Libby will be sorely missed. She will be succeeded by associate professor of English and award-winning fiction writer Christina Milletti. Christina will add a most welcomed dimension to the HI leadership. We look forward to working with her for the next three years.
