  • Dr. Muigai will trace the long history of efforts to reduce Black infant mortality. Through exploring how politicians, physicians, midwives, and Black families in the early 20th century struggled to ensure the livelihoods of Black mothers and their babies, this talk considers the legacies of this period on Black birthing experiences today.
