TONY CONRAD: Celebration of Life and Work

May 2, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Tony Conrad was a SUNY Distinguished Professor and a faculty member in DMS for 40 years. He was a larger-than-life media pioneer key in the establishment of Media Study at Buffalo, internationally recognized as an experimental artist, a visionary pioneer in numerous media his entire life, and enthusiastically dedicated to the arts in Western New York for four decades. We invite you to an historic moment in Western New York cultural history: a celebration of the extraordinary life and work of Tony Conrad at 6:30 PM on May 2, 2016 at the Center for the Arts, North Campus, University at Buffalo. Conrad’s film and sound works will be presented as the last event in this year’s PLASMA series, an acclaimed series envisioned and brought into existence through his personal efforts. This celebratory PLASMA event will be followed by a special reception in honor of Tony Conrad. PLASMA events are free and open to the public; the Western New York artistic community is warmly invited to this special tribute.
