Department of Theatre & Dance’s New Play Reading Series: Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ “Everybody”

November 28, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

New Play Reading Series!

Come participate in a reading of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ play Everybody on 11/28 at 6:30 p.m., in AA 190. No need to RSVP, just be ready to show up and read. Roles will be assigned at the reading (you can also just listen, if you prefer), and we’ll have time for some conversation afterwards. Snacks provided!

Everybody, a finalist for the 2018 Pulitzer Prize, “is not only provocative and involving, it is also funny. Wildly funny, in fact” (Huffinton Post). The play is notable for choosing its protagonist by lottery from the cast each night, so that different actors play many of the main roles at each performance. As a bold and self-aware contemporary riff on morality and mortality, the play “fills the heart in a new and unexpected way” (The New Yorker).

Please feel free to email Lindsay Brandon Hunter with questions (lhunter@buffalo.edu) and to circulate widely–everyone is welcomed and encouraged to take part!
